my irk for the moment:
you know, I feel like the raving community has died down a little. perhaps I mean two things when I say this.
in one way, it has slowed due to the events on Sept. 11. Moral is pretty much down everywhere, and the desire and craze to party hard for 8-10 hours at a time has seemed to dwindle. Not much has happened since Nocturnal, in terms of news and events. Texas keeps on having their dope parties, thats all im seeing. There are still reports about Nocturnal on the main page of ILR. Seeing as how it was a party that was more than a month ago, its kinda odd for those to still be up. or is it?
in the other way, perhaps the scene has reached a boiling point.. oh wait. i mean a fading point? ever since Creamfields Vegas and NY were cancelled, then the ENTIRE Mekka tour, then Nocturnal and its deaths and sketchy events, things seem a little... shady? Things are definitely no longer consistent, at least don't seem that way. I'm not feeling that excitement of the "rave," but maybe thats just because its early and the dynamics of the scene are different due to the start of college. MM should be way fun though, fun people are going to be here.

I laughed at this. I had similar experiences with my goofy parents this summer and was thinking about capturing them in writing. nice. I really don't like retroactive remembrance though.

Sure he has the internet, where he can look up porn, talk to teenage females, find music, etc. But there is one crucial piece of his life that he needs desperately.
Don't let him whore himself, just to get a TV. Don't let him be a linkwhore.

um yeah. so I just tested out my links for my last entry. and Mallrat (funny how I don't know her, but have resorted to calling her a name. and yet it just feels right.) made a comment about Ghost World the movie. How naive someone can be, I don't know. But two people in particular are just damn clueless.
I have to include the comment:
Dustin and I saw an average movie today, which was misleading in it's title. Ghost World wasn't even about ghosts, or anything scary at all. And I looked it up when I got home and the rated "R" was for sexual content and language.. OOhh.. nothing I haven't heard before.
*shaking and smacking forehead*
odd how much we devote our time to single out another for his/her "fallacies." I've stooped to a new low I believe. But since its a whole production and pretty much its own series now.. why not?

Soo just told me that a pack of High School Juniors will be on campus next week to "experience" what it's like to be a student here. and she advised me to hassle them. So I will. and I'm going to get my floor to as well. and other floors as well. yes.. a pack of high schoolers with cameras and looking for flyers. Looking for flyers? They will be bombarded on Bruin Walk. Terrified if anything... poor poor kids...

fell asleep in both classes today. not the whole time, but a good part of it. math i could follow, mat sci.. ... yeah.
Jeff is staying here at least one night while he's down here. so I'm stoked. I'm going to take him to see some cool little places here on campus. and finally glowstick with my mentor once again. haha
whats wierd? talking for the first time in a long ass while to Hai, LinLin, AND Ms. Erin, in the same night, all iming me within the same 5 minutes! craaaazy. and there I was, not even ready to chatchat because I was fucking confused with what versions of CS to get and shit. bleh. I don't know how to play. and I know that when i figure it out, I'll keep playing. dammit..
oh and I can't believe its fucking Thursday already.
I had class from 12 to 3. waited till 4 on campus to get a book from someone. socialized on Bruin Walk till 430. chilled in room with sad friend until 515 for dinner. I tabled to raise money for the NYFD fund outside Rieber from 6 to 630. then I spoke at a little seminar/workshop/program on "the transition to academic and personal/social life at college" and answered questions from 7 till 9. made posters and flyers for AIM, Knott's Scary Farm, and Bruin ResFest till 1030. Hung posters/flyers, took down old shit till about 1115. wrote an intro for Dung's paper until 12. played Unreal Tournament with residents until past 1. tried to figure out CS versions till 2. meanwhile chatting here and there and checking email. now it is 3. have I done ANY work to catch up for the past three days? nope. and yet I claim it is most important to be on the ball for school, to the Freshmen that came to the seminar. go Waylan, the contradictory, irresponsible, unorganized PA.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I am finally online, on my OWN computer! it is a blazing fast AMD T-Bird 1 Ghz system with 256 Ram, and 64 MB GeForce 2 Video. I am damn happy with it. It is just one of those things that has completed me. I feel complete... at least more so, now that I am online and can update my friggin comp's software.

this is cool: UCLA Wireless Broadband System. A note says that the wireless system may attract students in the future. I wonder if wireless net access really would be a deciding factor between Berkeley and here. *shrug* later later maybe, when everyone has their own wireless shit.
