[dooby dooby doo]
The buildings in North Campus look like cardboard playhouses. or like houses formed by a bunch of little foam grids. or even extra-large 3D puzzles.
.......
Actually, the world seemed like one big spherical snow globe.
Who are we such that we couldn't be tiny and in perfectly crafted little landscapes getting shaken around and sprinkled upon by different shit. or like in numerous board games and doll houses?
is the world like a dollhouse, each floor of the building representing just another "phase" of our quantum world, identical up to one inexact atomic difference. Would it be laterally stacked? or perhaps in a rotation of 3D axes, would it be simply be a couple degrees off center from its closest mirror world?
......
Or maybe, we're in the toilet bowl of something cosmically beyond us. the night sky and stars? merely darkness and nightlights in the unlit bathroom of the Galactic Realm. the sun? our lightbulb, that shines blue light (or is it the lit bowl's world absorbing all but blue light?). our Inverted Fountain? our flush hole. We are merely the bacterial growth around it, living off the main nutrient that every flush leaves behind, H2O. Perhaps then it isn't considered THE source of all life, but simply the source of just our lives -- "our" referring to the realm of life in only our plane of existence. Perhaps another plane treasures lithium as its natural lifeforce. or sulfur from absolutely nasty gassy flush material.
......
Any thing with college letters is basically a big ol billboard advertisement for something society has unintentionally made comercializable. And with it comes surprising clout and conveys to the public, "I am a college kid. Well off, lucky as hell, and better than the average person, and you know it and should give me some goddamn respect," near demanding a place in society utilizing the abusive nature of symbolic images on the human psyche.
Yet at the same time, college letters are like a sign of neutrality, badges of sacred importance in a society that destroys its youth and takes for granted the evolvement of the educated life. We college students resemble the only things left on this earth that are truly deserved of immunity in a world too complex for mere men to translate. An implied code of conduct in our little bubble of a planet that seems to have no rules to govern its civilians.
......
Lamp posts and other obstructions make the world seem like a big pegboard.

Mental shots that I probably won't see again::
::super club-like image of a fraternity, complete with "bouncers" and "lists" and girls hoeing themselves for the attention of anyone who will watch, at the entrace at the top of an inclining front path.
::the walk of fame/shame as partier goers and party wannabes march up the "Date Rape Trail" back to the comfort of the residence halls.

Phone bill for the month: 39.95
- 17.25 for the phone service
- 2.00 for random long distance calls
= 20.70
thanks to me wanting to hear a comedically cute and mildly fobbish New York accent, I'm in the hole $21. oh man, I'm just dying to see February's bill. but it feels oh so priceless while on the end of a cordless receiver....
I should really get a cell with free long distance, instead of getting bastardized by UCLA's monopolizing "services." convenience my ass
and [bump] to Lela Lee for her brainchild, ALAG (angry little asian girl), a comic strip/video series/small business franchise about based on the story of an angry little asian girl.

Here's what I was thinking around 9:38 pm:
Great. Just fucking great.
could there have been better timing? an hour until my CS project needed to be submitted online, a project which I hadn't fully finished yet, I hear an unfamiliar yet oh so familiar wonk-wonk siren sound. what was it, you ask? yes thats right, a fire drill. oh well, so I had to abandon my defunct Vending Machine project to evacuate the building.
I realized after getting down to the pavement that Rieber residents would burn to the ground if they evacuated during a real fire like they did tonight. Random kids wandering about not 6 feet from the entrance, well within range of a toppling seven floor wing, chatting and talking it up like it was a party and the siren were a background house beat. But I'd expect it. I think some people were even praying for a fire because it was so damn cold outside.
one memorable quote:
"Why couldn't they have done this on a warmer night?! It's like freezing out here!"
nice.
I got back with 20 minutes to spare, time enough to finish the details, comment my code and submit the source. but not enough to compose a flowchart for my algorith and write a post-report. fuck me. 40 minutes I would have loved to have back. and part of me thinks that the time lag couldve been excused based on benefit of the doubt.
but at least I've come to the conclusion that I am on one of two of the safest floors in the building. Third floor with three stairwell evacuation routes. If flame comes to inferno (ala if push comes to shove... haha... okok, lame), we could toss mattresses out the window and jump out. and theres a lawn too. double softness to otherwise protect from shattered bones from a 30 foot drop.
flash to an hour later where I relieve my stress from CS with an hour long massage session.
Under dim lights and quiet hums of computer and comfortable silence we released each others' built up tensive energies. Who knew there were so many nerve endings around the buttocks and heel/Achilles? well I didn't. I do now, thanks to my intimately close yet implied-just-friends mentor of the opposite sex, who gave me my first (albeit fully clothed) full body massage. concluded with scratching.
then I returned the favor.
then she returned the favor again.
fuck yeah. ready to tackle physics after that? hell no, I'm like jello. heh, I could just feel the energy crackling... woooooweeeee!

ok so some of the stuff happening lately just has to be mentioned because its worth mentioning in my book. err blog. I don't know what I've been waiting for really. new design? yeah for sure, time to learn me some html. yeah so what, every empire has its foundations no?
[begin random convo::]
(forgive the fluff, this is from groggy memory, aka yesterday at around this hour)
Joyce: I'm doing a paper on the naval race between US and Germany
me: really? thats dope!
me: like battleship races
me: suped up cruisers
Joyce: yup like the cold war but with ships
me: ...ohhhhhhhh
Joyce: lol, silly
me: and I was thinking big exhausts on those battleships
me: some nitro
Joyce: nope
[::end random convo]
I still think a drag race with some modified cruiseships would be dope. and goddamn hilarious. the concept itself just besmirks me.

so here's a big thing with blogging.
Am I really connecting with the world by blogging? the REAL world?
or do I cast myself into a hole where I think I'm connecting with the world, through a computer, while the real world is actually right outside the door?
actually maybe there isn't any real connection between the two. maybe i'm just relating two worlds that might not even have an effect on each other.
But they both have an effect on me.
which leads me to think I need to spend more time immersed in both.
