This summer has a bit of fresh air with a hint of significance to the grand scheme.
doobin @ 4:11 AM
yeah so i just posted a slew of random thoughts and rants that itched to get off my chest. I suppose if something wants to be said, it will be said, no matter what.
......
hello doob.blogspot.com
hello to the friends that read and check on this little space of mine,
long time no see. sorry to have entered so abrupt and with odd subject matter that is not relevant to the status of this blog, but is relevant to the personality that keeps it. I owe you a lot for the lack of attention. There is lots to say.
Life is quite different since the my last "consistent" (that being a very loose term in context) posting in April. actually March. i know i've been my random self, but there is absolutely nothing in those posts about my life, about the life that was going on, about the trials and tribulations of a struggling student with so much in his head he doesn't know what to do with it all.
Explanations, explanations. you know, can you always explain everything? Or is it really a justifiable must in logic to find a source to everything.
well, I became a little more focused on certain people and interacting with them. namely a Miss Lydia Suh. she rocks my world. I don't know the current status, but I know she has read this little place before. This is something I share in my circle of friends. No worries from me. I guess I'll still refer to her in the third. haha .. anyway to the subject of my hiatus, I just suddenly spent more time doing other things. being in different places. with lots of people here and there. never a dull moment for most of the time.
I guess I hit a funk from the beginning, when my time away from my friends made me infer that I was missing out. And so my focus on other things shifted to balance the extra weight on my mind. I was glad when KCN was over, but I felt so tired already after that, mentally, not to mention physically.
I tried to regain relationships I thought I had lost, but had merely been paused in my abscence. Fun ensued and life was on again.
Studies were a raging battle, and I'm not lying about that. To give myself the motivation while setting anchors on myself was hard; my priorities were a little left of center. i will give you some words that describe why:
excited young promiscuity
neverending novelty
valuable learning experiences
undeniably comfortable intimacy
goofy-type funny-type happy-type corny-type entertainment-type passionate-type love
The quarter suffered as the battle raged to the very end. the resolution was more forced than worked out by its own accord, but the motivation was welcome. My efforts were and are a disappointment, as any in my position would be likely to agree, but they were an awakening to my hibernating scholarlastic skills.
I'll have to leave this entry as an intro I suppose. or a Prelude. Prologue. or a simply fatigued recount? we'll take care of that later.
......
And never intending to leave in a fashion that does not withhold a smile in whoever sees me off, please, allow me to offer you omething to make you smile, chuckle, snicker, laugh, or bellow.
"So cute, I could just eat em!"
......
good day.

Girlfriends: More than just friends that fuck.
me: how's your girl?
friend: good. and your FTF?
me: asshole, she is more than a FWB (FTF)
me: well.. actually girlfriends are in one way friends with benefits.
friend: [laugh]
me: right? but not to say that they are simply that, because they are in fact so much more, hence being labled 'girlfriends' and not FTF's.
with that brings the idea of a nice little ad campaign to hype up women to the male population, a good slogan i think. I know i'll be mentally slapped by some offended women, and even my genitals imagined to be cut off by some of the more venomous types.

Pop Music: The Force that Ruled and Killed a Nation
Music History ###: History of Pop Music in Society (maybe in the 20th Century or something)
just another storytelling of modern day society's decline in evolution; to glorify the era where society was at the lowest level of sophistication in recent memory. to mark the degradation of the influences on american youth. to give proof that pop culture ruled a nation.
biting statements? or merely true? yea i overlook some details in this wildly random reference to whats eating away our youth.
but i guess, someone had to do it, study todays culture. actually, whoever is, is merely assessing the status of our current culture and what represents our current focus, values, and whatever is drawing our attention. in a different view, that would actually be politics and sports also, but thats not this view.
pop music has effectively anchored itself as a dominant force in the way today's American society thinks. that and 9/11. it [pop culture] has made and broken celebrities -- people; lauded and blended fashion, music, and design into the fabric of our everyday lives; and it has directed the youth of today in directions easily recognizable and differentiable from those of comparable previous generations. and for what? the spearheads of this culture have mashed and pulverized certain values and demonstrated others for the sake of what??
dividends.
das right nigga, the ENDs is what be runnin dis shithole country! power to the people! power to the people!
we can pretty much relate the "decline," as I like to say, to the greediness of the industry's producers. thanks to pop, the buck don't stop. and to give it strength by making it a serious subject is.. in some ways intelligent, and others idiotic.
technically, my point began as a sharp hit against the embedding of modern pop culture shit as a collegiate level subject matter. funny, sad, and utterly ironic, really, because in just as many ways, the class contributes to and perpetuates pop culture by influencing its students to think MORE in terms of it. just think of why I would say that, and you'll understand why i did. ah never mind that might be too hard for some. in laymans: with intention to educate a populace on a popular aspect of society, the class only excludes everything that was not part of that "pop" movement. ehh then again, all music history classes do that.
oh well, i'll take it where I get it. I'm not going to sleep when there's an exclusive Andy Warhol exhibit here in LA.
pop culture is pop culture. I may decry it, but whatever, I'm just as much a part of it as you are.
oh, and thank you MTV, radio (and actually the media as a whole), and the RIAA (for fucking up P2P, and more, but thats a different rant altogether); you've just made this place a stupider place to live.
what, I didn't say that my deeper insightful glance was going to change my first impulsive thoughts.

Mastery of... what?
I can't think of one thing that we humans have mastered.
Have we, as men, as human beings, reached the limit to our knowledge?
No. and thats just it. No real need for explanation. nothing to say but that there is much to learn, and we are a relatively young entity in the history of the existence of tangible life. have we learned too much, what an asinine and naiively ignorant question. my mind raced to subjects of technology, music, basketball, space and the cosmos, movies, paraphernalia, and realized what I already knew -- we are constantly and fervently always searching for new ways to support and apply what we already know, and at the same time are determined to find a better way to use what we do know.
The flaw is in that we base too much in what is already known. there goes that naive tone again, too much, but thats what I mean. with each advancement in whatever, that thing is done so much better, so much more efficient. but how about endevouring to something unknown, something that hasn't been broken down to the barest level for maximum usage? yea thats a challege.
and right now i'm thinking it will be quite a feat just to discover someone who effectively proves that he or she has mastered something. to be able to say that in an existence where nothing truly is (or will be?) mastered (so far), is quite something.

Cheers to Analogies
A good tip to figure out exactly how something is: relate it to something you already know.
i mean, how better to know the unknown then to allow something known to replace that lack of knowledge? (what the fuck did i just say)
I've found that the ability to apply or relate knowledge about something to something (or everything) else is one of the most invaluable things I've ever learned to do. applying a certain philosophy I've learned in English class to everyday life, to the world; applying the laws of statics and dynamics, stresses and strains to actual structures in life; relating that knowledge to every other engineering field out there;
basically... analogies. the easiest way to communicate.
example:
James had surgery on his hand a couple days ago. and is now recovering at home in pain. unsure of the effects of an unknown drug, vicodin, he was able to relate the feeling to other substances he does know about:
"E without the lovey dovey; a good body high"
"shrooms without psychedelia"
"a lot of weed, without the paranoia"
analogies. look at how well they communicate. and whats best is that these analogies have conveyed a true feeling. to be able to replicate, in the mind, an exact type of feeling, an exact type of stimulus, is really pretty dope.
cheers to analogies.

my parents left for a 4-day trip to Vegas on sunday.
phone call:
Dad: Hey Waylan, want to join us for dinner?
Waylan: Sure, where are you?
Dad: in in Vegas.
Waylan: ... I'm in LA.
Dad: its a buffet!
Waylan: ill be right there
Both: hahahahaha
Yesterday they went to the Hoover Dam, had a 6am - 430pm run before having a nap.
Tonight they are going to a sleazy topless production.
who's choice it was? .... I don't want to point fingers. (nice one Dad)
ah yes.. Vegas.
